Good evening! I’m taking a quick break from packing up my closet (ugh) and driving my suitcases of clothes over to the new place.  And watching my beloved Orange trounce Providence!

Breakfast today was peanut butter toast (burned, of course, just the way I like it!) and a green banana.

I had another weird lunch today at work, due to a combination of being too busy and not very hungry.  Tomorrow will be better though, because I have a lunch meeting with Pot Belly catering! Definitely looking forward to that.

We’re trying to clean the freezer out of all of our leftovers before this weekend, so tonight was re-heated turkey chili.  (Check out this post for Spike’s semi-recipe.)  Chili is one of those things that tastes just as good out of the freezer as it does the night you make it.

On the side were more crackers and bread…gotta get my carbs in! 😉

I can’t wait to be fully moved into the new place next week, so we can go back to cooking (and posting) more interesting things.

I’ve avoided my duties for long enough, and LOST is on soon…so…Good night!

Spike and I shopped up a storm today! We had really good luck finding all the pieces we needed for our new house at great holiday sales prices.  And everything will be delivered on the same day next week!

But first, breakfast…

I’m still feeling like a cold is coming on, so I’ve been chugging orange juice.

While we were out at the mall this afternoon, we picked up snacks…

His and hers ice cream from Maggie Moos.  His was pumpkin pie with heath bar, graham cracker and caramel, and hers was red velvet cake with brownie, almonds and pecans. Yum!

The future in-laws are visiting this weekend, so we met them for dinner at a new pizza place up the street from our new house–Coal Fire.  They got stuck in traffic, so while we were waiting Spike and I shared a calamari appetizer.

Spike also tried a new Sam Adams seasonal.  He liked it a lot and said it was a perfect lead-in to spring.

For our meal we split a grilled caesar salad (which the waiter warned us would be served warm).  It was really different.  I loved the grilled flavor of the romaine.  The bread on the side wasn’t bad, either. 😉

We also split a small pepperoni pizza.  Coal Fire’s ‘special’ sauce was slightly spicy and sweet, which went really well with the toppings.  And I love burnt pepperoni, so I was in heaven.

Sharing everything was a great plan–we got to try a lot of different flavors, but I definitely didn’t leave feeling too full.  We have a bunch of restaurant dinners coming up this week, so I’m trying to behave myself.

Happy early Valentine’s Day! Good night!

Good morning! I woke up this morning with a scratchy throat.  (Cue the music of impending doom…)

Spike’s been sick for about a week now, and I’m really hoping I didn’t catch what he has.  Unfortunately, this is likely given the fact that I’ve been stuck inside a germ cage all week!

Either way, I poured myself a giant glass of OJ for breakfast.  I normally don’t drink juice in the morning.  We usually don’t even have any in our fridge, but thought we’d pick some up for our company.  Good thing! Here’s hoping the extra boost of vitamin C will help ward off any illness.

The whole region is digging out today, yet again–myself included! We’re off to shovel, and then to the bank to prepare for closing on our house tomorrow morning.

Later!
